Esa Jauhiainen founded 1961 metal workshop company called Hitsaus ja levytakomo Ky. Company had products of their own like forest ditch ploughs and steel boats. Later business expanded and included  also manufacturing steel structures to industry. Today Katera Steel Oy operates as machine and equipment industry system supplier. Production contain part manufacturing, welded steel structures, manufacturing of machined components, surface tratment and  final assembly with ready-fitted electric and hydraulic units. Today already third generation of the family is working in the company. Production premices cover altogether 7000 m2 and Katera Steel Oy has 40 employees.
